On October 13th and 14th the Summers County Public Library representatives, were at the Charleston Civic Center participating in the 12th Annual West Virginia Book Festival. The focus of the library exhibit was to promote the book, "Barns of Summers County, West Virginia Heritage" by Phyllis Campbell Whitley. C. and cousin Mrs. Joyce Waltman of Forest Hill, who spent many hours with her during the four year period she spent traveling every road in the county to photograph and document the history of old barns and the people who built them. Ms Deya Terrafranca assisted with the booth preparation. Mrs. Barbara Parmer, President of the Hinton Friends of the Library, visited the booth on both days of the Festival.
Over sixty authors, publishers, state organizations and libraries presented displays.
